After three successful editions, Red Bull GIBAWAY is back for its fourth iteration. From October 2–4, 2026, the unique boutique gaming event moves to Skövde—a city with a strong gaming heritage - and takes over the iconic Billingehus.
Since its launch, Red Bull GIBAWAY has established itself as an innovative concept within gaming - where LAN meets travel, experiences, and community. Previous editions have gathered hundreds of participants in locations such as Gothenburg, Västerås, and Åre, combining gaming with nature, activities, and social experiences in a premium setting.
Red Bull GIBAWAY #004 is about the feeling of leaving everyday life behind. Checking in-and checking out from everything else. Over three days, the event combines:

Interest in this type of experience continues to grow. A new study from Kantar shows that 75% of young men in Sweden play games-more than those who exercise, watch sports, or go to parties. At the same time, nearly one-third say they would consider booking a gaming getaway, where hotel, pre-installed computers, and activities are included.
Gaming Meets History and Experiences
This year’s edition takes place at Billingehus - a destination recently highlighted by The Guardian as one of “10 places to stay in the UK and Europe where you can travel back in time.” The hotel combines a newly renovated spa with preserved 1970s charm, where details such as vinyl players and a disco atmosphere set the tone for a unique experience.
With views overlooking Billingen, this becomes a new kind of arena for gaming—where play, relaxation, and social activities meet in an environment far removed from traditional event halls.
An Event in Sweden’s Gaming City
Choosing Skövde is no coincidence. The city has long been a hub for Swedish game development and innovation, and Red Bull GIBAWAY #004 is organized in close collaboration with the Municipality of Skövde. The ambition is also to involve the University of Skövde and its students—bringing together gaming culture, education, and future talent.
As part of this year’s edition, Elajjaz joins as one of the event’s profiles. He also attended the previous edition and describes the experience:
“It sounds like a gaming event - but it’s much more than that. You arrive, everything is taken care of, and suddenly you’re in the middle of something that just flows. You play, hang out, do activities, meet people. It’s hard to explain - you only really get it once you’re there.”
Red Bull GIBAWAY continues to evolve beyond the traditional LAN format. This year places an even stronger emphasis on activities outside of gaming, where participants will be able to enjoy:
The goal is to create a holistic experience where gaming is at the core—but everything around it makes the weekend truly memorable.
As part of the event, the CS tournament ROG Journey will also take place, where players from around the world gather to compete. The tournament will be a central part of the weekend and helps elevate the international presence on site.
